Ocean-based STEM learning is front and center at the Aquarium. Our Sea Base curriculum offers you three levels of immersion - from 50 minutes to 2 hours. We strive to enrich your science platform with real-time, hands-on classes, and programs that ignite a desire to learn more.
Team ECCO outreach transports the ocean to you! Let our expedition leaders enhance your school curriculum or group program. From fish ID to marine adaptations, to ocean ecology to invertebrates.... all linked to STEM and NC Core goals.
Due to COVID there are group size and interaction policies in place.
Take part in STEM learning at the source. Travel with us to ocean-based exploration sites and immerse yourself in science. Make your custom program last for a day or a week. We take care of logistics, materials, events, and instruction. Trips have included manatees, aquifers, reef ecology, sharks, seagrasses, Florida coastal habitats, mangrove ecology, and more.

The Team ECCO Intern Program is a unique training experience. Interns are worked through a well-rounded aquarist program incorporating marine science, animal husbandry, ecosystem development, water quality management, full system filtering, fish and invertebrate ID, public speaking and relations, and teaching.
Intern placements are limited. Each semester, we accept 3 high school level interns, 1 college level intern, and 1 post college / adult intern. The training is rigorous and gratifying. Students leave with an experience that strengthens their marine science knowledge.
The semester long internship requires engagement Tuesday – Friday each week. High school students should check with their Career Leader for seeking placement.
During summer, Team ECCO accepts interns by special request. These spaces run from 4-6 weeks. Please contact the Executive Director, Mrs. B. Ramer, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All intern program are un-paid, but may lead into a part time position if applicable
