Team ECCO welcomes volunteers!
Our service program begins in the fifth grade and continues through college. There are 3 levels of volunteers. Basic volunteers are referred to as Minions. We ask a commitment of 1 hour a week / 4 hours a month, to the aquarium. Minions may greet visitors, answer questions about our habitats, offer "fish knowledge" about our finned friends, and help with basic cleaning and care chores. Aqua Guides are volunteers who have passed practice skills on water quality, filtration, habitat and community design, and also may assist with classes and programs. Interns are students who show proficiency in guest relations, tank maintenance and structure, animal research, data collection, nutrition, and behavior. Everyone begins as a Minion, and through time, practice, and experience may become interns. We welcome high school seniors, college students, and college graduates who are looking for practice experience in a potential career with science, business, event planning, or teaching. No prior work or knowledge in marine biology needed. Team ECCO will train all new volunteers. A friendly attitude and willingness to learn is a must! Interested adults welcome!
